I guess I didn't make it clear that I wanted to hear music BOTH from the IPad and from the bluetooth speakers in another room.
The Disco bluetooth speaker is great and has a nice range, but I don't have much experience with bluetooth (never used it with my cellphone) and didn't realize that using bluetooth cancelled hearing the sending device.

Just experimented a bit for you, Isabel. I'm not listening to Pandora or any other program that streams, but I am listening to music (Slumdog soundtrack) in the dining room while the device is being charged. I have my iPad connected to my Jawbone Jambox (Bluetooth).I left the iPad in the dining room to continue charging it and carried the Jambox to the kitchen and had perfect reception. Then I carried the Jambox outside. If I leave the door open, I can continue to listen on the balcony that is right off the dining room, but if I take the Jambox outside using the kitchen door there is a wall plus a door between the iPad and the speakers and that is too much--no reception. So depending on the layout of your house, I would think that you could have the iPad in one room (although you will not hear any music coming from the iPad itself) and take the speaker into another and listen to the music. Wherever you are you need the speakers if they are connected. In re-reading your post I am wondering if I understood your question properly.Hope this helps.Carlee-------Original Message-------From: billswife_1999Date: 27.08.2011 02:15:30Subject: [iPad] Listening to Pandora via Speaker Dock AND Bluetooth speakers???Just took delivery of my Supertooth Disco Bluetooth Stereo Speaker and that sound is EXCELLENT! Easily paired...But...was sad to discover that what I had planned for - listening to the Ipad in the kitchen from the IPad in the speaker dock and then hearing the same music in another room with the bluetooth speaker was not possible. They Supertooth will be great for watching movies without headphones, but I'm disappointed I can't have music in two rooms at the same time.Is there some way I can achieve this?By the way, I paid $119 for the Supertooth Disco and it is a beautiful piece of equipment - very well made, and it comes with a nice padded case.Isabel------------------------------------Yahoo!
