I agree that Tom-Tom and Garmin are slightly better than Android turn-by-turn Navigation via Google Maps.
Slightly better however does not justify the $100-$200 for a good one when I already own an Android (which has it) and an iPad where I can buy a good app for less than $20.
However since an ex GF stole my Garmin, the Android does fine for me. But I would rather use the iPad 2 when it is in the car. Bigger screen, bigger on screen keyboard.
What are the best iPad Nav apps if I do download and buy one?

The Google Maps in iPad even when we were online (with a mobile hotspot) did not offer us turn-by-turn voice navigation.
What are we missing to make this work so we can use the iPad 2 as a GPS when travelling?I use TomTom USA/Canada. 1.41 GB (all the maps are in the iDevice), $40
