[iPad] Re: Google Maps why does it not talk and navigate?

One of the advantages of an Android phone is The Google Maps turn by turn vocal direction.

In order to have this option with an IPhone (and I assume the IPad) you have to have a purchased program like Navagon (currently, the favorite from what I have read on the web). I think it costs $40 for the app. Tom Tom also has a popular app, but I think the Navagon is known to be the best.

The Android Google GPS vocal guidance is free - and it's terrific. I have it with my Droid 2.

I have been seriously considering getting an IPhone when IPhone5 comes out - not because of the navigation, which I will miss (but which my husband will still have in his phone) but because the IPhone camera is superior to that in the Droid and that's important to me.

We were in the Verizon store today and I got to spend some time with the IPhone. I appreciated that the learning curve would be next to non-existent because it's so much like the IPad.

Very difficult decision. I really like my Droid 2, but not because of its terrible battery life or mediocre camera.
