Re: [iPad] Everything we know so far about the Apple Car September 30

Apple was certainly not in GSM mobile industry before they introduced iPhone. The industry was dominated by European manufacturers. Motorola was sole player from USA.
Hope you do not define mobile industry as Electronic industry, defining superset as Jack Welch.
Cannon never made instant cameras before making digital cameras.

Your three examples are companies in an industry, disrupting that industry. Our discussion is about a company not on the auto industry being able to disrupt it.

Tesla is doing that. When Tesla have mastered performance and range. When they master car cost, and battery life and replacement cost, that will be the tipping point.

Well, Apple did fundamentally hurt mobile industry, as seen by the eyes of Nokia.
Earlier, Citizen did fundamentally hurt watch industry, as seen by the eyes of host of Swiss watchmakers.
Also, Cannon did fundamentally hurt camera industry, as seen by the eyes of Polaroid.

Why should some one take pity on automobile industry?
They did fundamentally hurt horse drawn coach industry, as seen by the eyes of now forgotten giant.

That is the name of the game.
