I read that "Reset All Settings" fixed it, but I have no verification of this. My wife just updated an iPhone 5 last night, so I'll let you know what I hear about the battery life.
I'm sure Apple knows which settings use the most battery and wish they'd pass their battery savings tips onto us.

I am running 8.1.2 and I think it's dreadful. Last night when I went to bed my phone was charged at 90%. I made very sure all the apps had been quit. This morning it was deader than a door nail.i thought for a bit it had turned itself off so I pushed the button on the side with no response so I plugged it in and saw the depleted battery. I updated my iPad too and I have the same battery issue. I sure hope Apple fixes this soon.
