Re: [iPad] ios8

My phone doesn't go obsolete. It keeps going. Certainly one day it won't take software that didn't exist when I bought it but that doesn't mean my phone magically stops working

It's a conspiracy between hw makers and sw makers.  Code and feature bloat.  Hw speeds thing up and sw slows them down again.  The user is the loser.

Of course, new apps always "do more".  It's the two-devils dilemma:  the monopoly devil lets things decay, and the competition devil keeps innovating and obsoleting, creating mountains of trash and wasted money.  In a perfect world, a benevolent monopoly would perfect and innovate at a reasonable rate.  Of course, the problem would be determining what was reasonable.

I think it's more likely the features they add require newer hardware like more ram better gpu it whatnot in order to have a decent experience. If you put it on an old iPad and it ran like a poop you'd say the apple experience was poop and they want to avoid that.
