Re: [iPad] Interner service

Thanks.  Seems it's mozilla only.  I use Chrome.  Maybe it's time to give Firefox another try.

Sure, could be.  Watching a speed check is like being on a roller coaster with road blocks - so many hops, so many delays.  And the commercial sites make it worse by tacking on gobs of junk that stand between you and what you want to see.  If any one of them is slow or nonfunctional, you can be stuck.  Your browser tells you that, so far, it's loaded only 76 of 102 links, and nothing's moving.

The bottle necks are the sites not your service. That's my guess. Mine was fast enough but could have been quicker. If that makes sense.

That's what my Time-Warner is.  But, really, it doesn't feel nearly fast enough - and, of course, it fluctuates, for God knows what reasons.  My benchmark is the LAN where I worked ten years ago.  Anything else feels slow.

Mycomcast line and my att cell were 30-40gigs down. That was fairly fast. Faster than most websites.

Or just suck it up.  Fiber is *much* faster.  True broadband, at last.  Unless, of course, they slow it down.

Last year I came to the list to ask about modems and speed connections. Our AT&T bill keeps going up. Each person gives us a different quote but none are real. Our last quote was for $80 for landline, and internet. I replaced the 2 wire with the Action tec that went from 1.? To 5.80. Last two months the bill is $95 to $110. Now, AT&T want to do away with DSL and switch customers to fiberoptics, U Verse We would have to use their modem and pay $150 +\- per month for the same speed. Those prices are greed on speed, IMO.
I have one Netflix DVD, and I pay for Prime. I miss Dish TV but too much $.
If anyone has information for an ISP, near Raleigh, with the same speed and a reasonable price. We do pay $5 more per month for toll calls to States and possessions. My husband's family is located in NC, Tejas, Arkansas. I have one person in Fla., all others are deceased.
