All you have to do is plug your iPad into your computer and that's it. iTunes will automagically do all the work for you just like iCloud does. Simple!

Just curious. For one thing, when I'm in 'foreign territory' I try not to assume anything. I have never gotten a message that the backup was complete.
I have been doing tech for a long time and changing from one environment to another, or in this case a mixed dual environment, is almost as difficult as coping in a country without the language skills.
