So, financially Apple is leading? Off course, and that is due to their business model, it's that simple. Googles model is advertising, and Microsoft is software. How does that affect apple users? Do we all have shares that pay a handsome dividend, no to both. Do we all earn mega bucks from capital gain, no. At least not recently when it plummeted, despite the sales. SJ is no less than awesome, but times have changed, ask the public, they are the buyers

Market share is what matters. And more so, the growth in market share, that is the success of the core product. And listen to the public, what they want.

Small phone screen, that is not what they want. Tablet, the iPad is THE best, but it is not the best in overall functionality. Windows tablets are, edit that to Surface 2 Pro tablets, they do everything. If financials are the be all and end all, fine, but make the best hardware/software that does it all. In terms of iOS, make it flash friendly so we can watch anything, give us a small file system capability so we can add content easier, it can sync to iTiunes later, no biggie. That's android taken care of, and the only danger is Windows phone/tablet OS, who are mirroring iOS.

A company always can learn and grow. Extreme success does not mean no reason to "catch up with competitors who may not be threatening them now financially but if unchecked will" or "grow and invent newer standards".

The computer field if you don't re-invent yourself and have new offering in new markets in a few years, you may realize many took the initiative from you in new sales.

Of course, if you really think about what you say in that sentence you'd
see that they've produced all that they've needed to in order to become
the world's most highly valued company.

Just who are they "catching up to" if they're already ahead of everybody
else?
