I'd like to use the camera on my iPad 4 to scan the bar codes into Amazon for getting price, rank, etc. From what I've read, it looks like I should be able to do that, but I can't find the way to do it. I've looked everywhere from the manual to youtube. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell, both "Scan it" and "Snap it" functionality are iPhone/iPod Touch only. My guess is that the choice was made based on the pocketable nature of the smaller devices.

Neither RedLaser nor ScanTell have dedicated iPad versions, but both run on the iPad and work fine on the iPad -- I just tried them.
It would be nice if the Amazon App itself had a scanning ability, but as far as I can tell, it does not.
