Re: [iPad] Re: Bluetooth mode

I am on an unlimited data plan with Vz (and also Sprint).  I pay Vz $25/month for hotspot when I travel.  In this case, the 4G LTE phone is the wifi hotspot.

When I am at one of my houses (not travelling), I cancel the hotspot, and very rarely do I take a tablet or laptop outside the house.  For those very rare occasions when I think I might need to use my computer or ipad/tablet away from wifi, I use PDANet.  Since PDANet does not provide WIFI on Vz (only BT or USB), if I need to connect only one device, I use BT.  If I need to connect more that two devices, I tether PDANet to either the MBP or Win8 laptop and use it to provide the WIFI hotspot via the USB connection.  FWIW, I also use Open Garden sometimes instead of PDANet, especially on my Sprint phone. I can easily count the number of times I used tethering without paying for it on one hand, and that includes two times for testing to see if it worked.

Just wondering if you're on an unlimited data plan and if you're paying for tethering.

No I tried that and it didn't work either.  I believe a while back both apps merged.  This is a bummer.  Hate how Verizon controls everything.  Hopefully PDANET will get a patch.  Lots and lots of people are complaining on their website.

My Motorola phone had a major upgrade this morning and now I cannot connect to my android phone wirelessly. It tells me to connect using either Bluetooth or USB. Since there is no USB port, I need to connect through Bluetooth.
