RE: [iPad] iPad2 and wi-fi hotspots

  Judith, and others:

Somewhere in the past week I read a review and comparison of the iPad and the iPad2.   Among the differences,  I recall the author mentioning that the iPad2 basic model did not have the WiFi sensitivity of the iPad,  but that the iPad2 3G version DID have the sensitivity of the original iPad.   I suppose this is another good reason to go for the upgrade 3G option.  I'm glad I did.  My iPad2  (3G)  seems every bit as sensitive as any other WiFi device I have used.

A friend of mine that my husband works with had the ipad1 like I do, at work was he able to connect with the company wi-fi hot spot with his ipad1 from his desk at work. He recently bought the ipad2 and can no longer connect at his desk and has to move closer to the hot spot to connect. My husband has the iPad2 and he tried connecting from the friends desk also and his iPad2 won't connect from there either. It looks like ipad2 does not have the wi-fi range of the ipad1. I am wondering what they might have changed and wondering if this will be true on ipad3 also. I know no one will know about ipad3 but what do you think about the range difference?
