I might be able to help, but I need to know what apps are giving you gas and heartburn? Also, what iPad version do you have and what iOS version are you running.
Some iPad apps will download just fine, but they will not run or install via iTunes because my hardware/iOS is not compatible. I updated Pages but it does not install on my device because I am not running iOS 5/.01/.02.
Some iPhone apps do not run on the iPad and some will. Some apps will run on my iPad and some require the A4 processor.
