Hello Ron-
Something like that happened to my 15" MacBook Pro last week; all except for the lights on the power cord.
I thought it was in sleep mode, but it did not want to wake up when I pressed buttons, moved the mouse or pressed the power button.
I eventually pressed and held the power button to power it down; waited a few minutes; turned it back on and there has not been a problem ever since; I run my MacBook at least 4 hours a day.
Hope this helps some...
Cheers

Subject: [MacBook] All of a sudden
Adiós! My wife was merrily keyboarding away and all went to black. Nothing, nada, zilch. No amber or green light on the power cord, etc. Machine was not running hot, fan was not on. It just died. Basically she has a nice white door stop right now. Anything of importance was backed up, so no issues there. Any ideas on what could have happened? Any suggestions on where to turn to next.
Thanks,
Ron D.
