Will post back and eat some crow. My wife never bothered to notice when the
low power warning came on. In the interim there was a problem with the surge
protector, thus no power. Machine went into deep sleep mode. Obviously with
no power no lights on the power cord. Obviously nothing happens when you
press the power button.

I replaced the surge protector with a new one I had bought a few weeks ago.
The original has some intermittent problem. Her machine is now charging. I
over looked the most basic, that will not happen again. Would blame it on
the wife, but kind of hard to do. Just told her to be aware blah blah blah.
