Being able to mute system sounds easily while listening to a movie, music, books or whatever is a good thing. I just wish they didn't take away the orientation lock switch to do it. It's still possible to lock the screen orientation, but it takes a few more steps now.

I have not yet moved my iPad to 4.2.1, but it was my impression that the left-most portion of the App-switching tray had both a volume control and an orientation lock.

Can someone tell me why they feel the need for multiple controls to accomplish the same purposes?

Can someone explain why being able to mute system sounds while listening to a movie is NOT a good thing?
