Excellent advice. Before committing, I saw 3 doctors, did a lot of on-line research, and sought the advice of several people who had had the surgery. There are many different lens options. I went with the doctor who had the most experience with the lens I wanted, and who had performed surgery on my friend, who was very happy. After the surgery, neither my friend nor I wear glasses any longer. Another friend who had surgery later chose a different lens and still needs glasses, but that's ok.
A downside is that I am way more light sensitive and so need sunglasses all the time. Also, I can't sit indoors facing a window if the sun is bright outside.

Try this: after your first eye is done compare a white napkin - first with the fixed eye, then the other eye. You might not have known it because cataracts come on over lots of years but you have not been seeing colors very well.
