I guess you could zoom, it's easier in my opinion.

Safari's reader option, with which you can make tiny print available to people with normal vision, is a big plus.
Is there anything analogous for Apple mail? Often, one finds the same tiny-font problem in HTML mail - especially on a phone screen - but there's no way I've found around it.
