I have an iPod with iOS 4,  an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 and an iPad 2 with iOS 6.  They all work perfectly fine (just like new).  I don't buy new car every year either.

I am still working with my iPad 1!!!  It still runs well, battery is great and it has 52G storage space left so I'm keeping it until it starts to deteriorate.  The problem is that I still have 5.1.1 and when I click on "update" it says there are no updates.  So how do I or maybe the better question is, Is it possible to up date to ios 7?  Some apps require that now.
