If you have a problem with an app, installing a new OS will almost never resolve the problem.
God knows how you get to the conclusion of Apple putting out a faulty OS when you appear to have a problem with an app.
But then some people look for any reason to attack Apple.
Has the app (is Facebook really an app?) been updated since you had 6.x on your device? Could that be the cause of the problem?
Have you tried deleting the app, restarting your device, and then reinstalling the app? That could be the cause of the problem.
Have you tried resetting your device and checking again if the problem exists?
From your email it sounds like you've done nothing to try to identify the problem other than just to some weird conclusion that Apple is releasing a faulty os just to annoy you and your daughter while you are on Facebook.
Sounds like a totally stupid conclusion to jump to IMHO.
