Re: [iPad] resetting used iPad

It happens when you transfer your cellular service from one iPad to the other.  It's just like buying a new cellphone, the old one stops working when the new one starts working.

Ok, is that deactivation/activation something that happens when I restore the new Air from iCloud?  I have tried to get information from Verizon and haven't had any success.

Verizon will deactivate the old SIM card and activate the new one at the same time.  A deactivated SIM card will display "no service" in the upper left hand corner of the screen.  The new owner will not be able to use the card until they open their own Verizon account and put the card in their name.
