Whenever I'm going off somewhere & taking my wifi only readers with me, I
make sure to sync up whatever my current book is -- saves a lot of
paging-forward to find my place later on. :-)

In fact you can choose to set them up so they automatically synchronize
place marks -- so when your actual Kindle isn't handy, you can run the App
in the computer or the iPad and it will pick up exactly where you left off
reading on the kindle.
