I used to have a TomTom, and it gave me the option of choosing freeways or not. Had some technical problems, though, so I took it back and got a Garmin, which gives me the option of choosing an alternate route. I never use it any more, though, because I use my iPhone.

Does anyone know of a GPS app that will give surface street directions, no freeways? I had a Garmin that I could program to give me directions without using the freeway. It was fun seeing places I hadn't known were around me because I use the freeway a lot. I'd like one for my iPhone 5.
