Aha! I thought there was a way to do this. Does not work in Gmail app but works fine in default Mail app, just tried it. iOS is really screwy, default apps get special API access?

I use the Mail app that comes with my iDevices.
When there's an attachment, it offers to "open with" any of the
other apps I have installed that can open whatever kind of file it is --
that is, if I have an app that can open it.
For .doc files, I usually use GoodReader, sometimes Docs2Go
(if I think I may want to edit it on-device).
I use GR for pretty much anything it can open as I like the way it lets me
organize things. (however, most of my on-device files come from the PC,
not in emails)
After all, what good is "saving" a file if you don't have an app that can
open it?
What were you planning to do with it -- on the iPad -- once you'd saved it?
Apparently you need an app that can (a) open a .doc file and (b) then save
it as something ForScore can read and (c) allow you to somehow "transfer"
the file to or "open in" FS.
Personally I find such machinations more easily done on my PC & put on
iDevice with file sharing (which also gives me a backup of both versions),
but that's just my dinosaurusitis speaking. :-)

I just tried and I can't do anything but print either. Opening the same
email on my Android tablet, I have 32 different options, including access to
the SD card. No wonder Ihnatko dumped his iPhone for a Galaxy S3.

I have the iPad 3. I wanted to save a doc file that was in an email but was

The only choice was print. Any ideas?
