No, I don't think so - I don't want to delete it now. I want that account to be availalbe to me the next time I want to sign up for a month. If I delete it NOW, the next time I want to sign up, I will have to go through the whole rigamarole of signing up again. Much simpler this way...and as long as I sign up again within 5 months, I have much less hassle. What do you believe the the advantage is to deleting my account "now", as opposed to "later"?
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've done this in the 6 months I've owned my iPad3, and it's worked fine each time, doing it the way I did it today.

According to my figuring, you checked the wrong choice, "Delete Account Later". You should have checked " Delete Account Now ". Bear in mind, deleting the account NOW does not stop your use of available data under the current month's purchase until the 30 day period is ended.

Here is how I stopped my auto-renew on the iPad, using Verizon as the carrier:
I did it 6 days before mynplan was set to auto-renew.
Go settings/cellular data and choose "View Account". Then choose Cancel Plan here:
