MY APPOLOGIES ! I mis-spoke. I just now accessed my Verizon 3G account on my iPad and you are correct. I do NOT want to use the DELTETE ACCOUNT NOW button, but rather the DELETE LATER BUTTON…as you pointed out. I had tried to double check this before my previous post but Verizon account services for the iPAd was momentarily down for service, so the message claimed, so I just tried to rely on memory. I was wrong. I just confirmed on my iPad. I use this feature so infrequently that I forgot which choice I had been making. Fortunately, the fine print of instructions provided by Verizon when making this choice makes it clear what you are doing.

No, I don't think so - I don't want to delete it now. I want that account to be availalbe to me the next time I want to sign up for a month. If I delete it NOW, the next time I want to sign up, I will have to go through the whole rigamarole of signing up again. Much simpler this way...and as long as I sign up again within 5 months, I have much less hassle. What do you believe the the advantage is to deleting my account "now", as opposed to "later"?
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've done this in the 6 months I've owned my iPad3, and it's worked fine each time, doing it the way I did it today.

Here is how I stopped my auto-renew on the iPad, using Verizon as the carrier:
I did it 6 days before mynplan was set to auto-renew.
Go settings/cellular data and choose "View Account". Then choose Cancel Plan here:
