I get that same message when I plug my iPad’s camera adapter cable into our iPod Touch 4th gen. Perhaps that cable is only made for certain iPad and not all? Don’t recall which one you said you had, but I suppose you’ll need to make sure whatever you purchase is compatible with that one specifically. Good luck.

He did that too. :) We got one that said it was compatible but when we plugged it in there was a notice that came up on the iPad itself that said "not compatible with iPad." So before we purchase another one from one of those multiple sources that appear when you do a search, I thought I would ask if anyone has any personal experience with a certain brand that you wouldn't mind recommending.

Pinny, I simply Googled , “ ipad hdmi cable adapter “, and was presented with numerous sources for such a cable as you are looking for. It appears there are many choices for both mail order and retail purchase, such as Walmart. Be sure to check or ask at the time of purchase if the cable is iPad compatible.
