I saw the iPad mini yesterday and was able to compare it with an iPad 4. I figure, if I wasn't looking for differences, I wouldn't notice the difference for the most part.  Reading a book, I'll probably notice the difference a tiny bit.  That's where I noticed the difference moving from the iPad 2 to the iPad 3.
