Hi... I'm Joan, from CT. I joined this group yesterday because I am now the proud owner of an iPad Mini. It's my very first iPad and I'm still fumbling around with it. I have lots of questions. First, is. There some sort of backspace on this thing? If I'm on a page and want to get out of it, I find I need to hit the home button... there's got to be a better way. It sounds like you're in an app and want to get out of it. If this is the case, then hitting the Home button works fine. If you have the Multitasking Gestures turned on in the Settings app, you can also place your fingers on the screen and pinch them together. If you're talking about switching to another app that is running, then you can swipe with 4 fingers either up or left/right.
Also, I read yahoo groups on my gmail. When I put it in landscape mode, so I can make the font larger, there is a sidebar on the left side which takes up a lot of real estate. Is there any way of removing that? If you're talking about the sidebar listing all of your e-mails, no. If you're talking about the sidebar showing the mail folders, you can just hit the 3 horizontal lines in the top left corner to collapse that.
Also, any good suggestions on where to go to get up to speed on this wonderful machine?
