Open iTunes and delete the unwanted apps there.  They will be gone permanently.

I've downloaded a number ao APPs from the app store via itunes. I no longer use or want these applications. I know how to remove them from my Iphone and Ipad...but I keep getting notices of updates to them in itunes even though I no longer want them. How do I remove them from my Apps in Itunes?
