I have recharged my iPad1 numerous times on my plugged-in-laptop --
generally when I've synced it at night & then just left it until morning.
Yes, it say's "not charging" but when I unhook it it's either fully charged
again, or if not-so-many hours (& it was really low) it might not be
completely charged but the % shown on disconnect is notably higher than it
had been at the start.
I just have to sure the computer stays awake the whole time!
