I love my iPad. I really do. And I am likely to get the iPad 3 to replace my iPad 1 when the 3 comes out.
That said, for reading books, especially outdoors or in a sunny room, I was wondering (now aloud) about the usefulness of just having a small dedicated e-ink reader like the Nook or Kobo or Kindle touch devices.
I am sure some of you have those and the iPad and I was wondering whether the smaller screen and the e-ink give you a MUCH better reading experience, especially in the sun / bright rooms, etc.
On another note, I put on my iPad 1 a really high end screen protector on the first day I bought it and I have never changed it. It still is fantastic (I think it was one of those that you applied with a wet solution and that was as tough as helicopter blades).
With the anticipated retina display (or close to it) for the iPad 3, I was wondering whether the sacrafice to screen clarity is worth the extra protection. I do have a screen protector on my iPhone 4S and on my iPad 1 so I am already used to the protection, but I would love to hear from others whose iPads are not protected if they have had problems with screen scratches and the like.
Thanks all!
