You can delete photos from the iPad without needing the computer -- but
you have to look at them through the correct method.
1) start the Photos app
2) touch the Photos button at the top (this shows all the photos on the
device, not in any sort of Album organization
3) touch the "Send To" icon (the one with the box and the arrow curving
up and to the right)
4) touch the picture(s) you want deleted
5) touch the Delete icon
6) touch the Delete Photo red bar and the photo is deleted.
Or from an album, tap a photo and then tap the trashcan icon.
