Here is an email I've just submitted to http://www.apple.com/feedback :
Using "AddressBook 6.1" under OS 10.7.x on 2 iMacs. Using "Contacts" under iOS 5.0.x on 2 iPhones and an iPad. We really need AddressBook to start retaining Ringtones for phone calls and again for text messages the same as Contacts. Right now you can only assign which Ringtone to use for each entry using Contacts under iOS. Then when you Sync the iOS devices with iTunes on your OSX devices the data from AddressBook wipes out ALL Ringtone assignments. This happens with each Sync when you are updating apps etc., using your AddressBook. I have currently turned OFF AddressBook updating in iTunes 10.5.x, but then you have to update each iDevice separately, by hand, to keep all contacts in sync.
Please Help,
Bob
Those of you that are even mildly bothered by this lack of compatibility, might also want to let Apple know.
