It may be a stupid question but how did you write in cursive on your ipad? Which app did you use?
Thanks
Goodness, that's not stupid at all! It's what this group is about!
I use the Note Taker HD app, and I use the Pogo Sketch stylus that you can get from Amazon (or a lot of other places). There are a number of note taking apps, and they all have plusses and minuses depending on what you want. I like Note Taker because I can generate a page of notes that is the same size and quality as writing on a piece of notebook paper. The way this works is that Note Taker has a box that is "zoomed in" on a portion of the page. As you write in the magnified box, the writing is shrunk down to a normal size on the main screen. It took me a few minutes to get used to how that worked, and then I never looked back!
I once printed out a packing list that I wrote in Note Taker, and showed it to my husband. He didn't know what I was so impressed about, until I told him that I hadn't written it in ink, that it was printed out. He hadn't even noticed.
Note Taker now has a lot of extra features, like being able to draw shapes and add images and things. I love that! I also love that you can tag each entry (called a Page, even though it might have several sheets) with one or more categories, so that you can easily see all your pages that are journal entries, or all your pages that are about travel. This works better for me than the apps that make notebooks, and you have to decide which one notebook you are going to write in. The tags create their own notebooks, in a way, and that way you can find your pages in more than one place if a page has more than one tag. No flipping through a 100 page notebook trying to find the relevant page.
There are a couple different kinds of styluses out there. For a really heavy user I think that the Pogo is probably the best bet. I loved, loved, loved the Boxwave stylus, which has a soft inflated rubber tip, but after using for about three weeks, the smooth coating on the rubber seemed to wear off, and the rubber dragged on the screen horribly. So did the replacement stylus that they sent me. :-( So now I'm back to Pogo's, which aren't perfect, but are cheaper and last longer.
The Pogo has a soft sponge tip that will eventually wear out, so they are definitely disposable, but they are pretty cheap now, and if you don't use undue pressure they hold up for quite a while. I've actually had the same one all year, and it is still going strong. My first one only held up 8 weeks. The plastic clips on the Pogos will snap off very easily. The metal Boxwave clips are awesome. I really wish that the Boxwave tip held up as well as the clip, lol! Also, the Boxwave is thicker, and it feels sturdier in the hand. If I had unlimited money, I would just buy Boxwave styluses once or twice a month, because they write soooo smoothly while they last. There appear to be a number of Boxwave-type styluses being marketed now by Griffin and Targus. They all look pretty identical, but I don't know if they are exactly the same or not. I'd love to learn that the others hold up better . . . but I suspect that they are all made by the same company.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
