In fact, by definition, nothing you receive from a list subscription is
spam. Spam is unsolicited. Everything you get from the list *IS* solicited
by you by signing up with the list.

True, but sometimes spammers manage to get on lists (even ones much more
tightly controlled than this one) just to spam the list, hoping that members
will feel "safer" about a mysterious link because it *is* on a "trusted
source."
