I hold the button down on the side and then slide the red arrow each evening. Reboot every morning. I'm glad to hear it's a good idea. I remember years ago it was recommended to leave you computer running and I do that with my big disktop computer. I only reboot if I have some kind of glitch.
My iPad seems to have problems with mail app freezing once in awhile that requires a reboot.
