If your CPU has WiFi capability then the card should communicate OK

Another option if you have a Wi-Fi server: there are memory cards that will automatically download your pictures to a computer (not sure about an iPad though). They have Wi-Fi embedded in the memory card. I've seen them at Walmart, $40 for a 4GB card.
As far as I can tell, they do not work though unless you have a Wi-Fi hub. They will not work directly to the computer. That would be nice for when someone is traveling.
