If you have a "router" please share brand & model. Example below of why the more info you share the better
I was working via the internet with my sister helping her restore her WiFi network. She had a router & an Apple Airport or Extreme Base Station - forget which apple product she had. We were going in circles.
Anyway after getting the router info, I looked it up and found #1 it was a wireless { WiFi } router & #2 she had plugged lan cable back into an ethernet port on the router. She could have gotten a plain router & saved money as the Apple unit will supply the WiFi.
