Apple are a media obsession. The media focus on and exaggerate the importance of a few things and pretty much ignore everything else. One big reason Apple have been so successful in selling their iPhones is that the American media never stop showcasing and praising them. If they criticize them, it's for failing to do better in one area or another than the competition.
A lot of Apple's media good will stems from Steve Jobs. As new generations of media people replace their elders, that will be forgotten. What will persist is the chauvinism. Apple are an American company, and national chauvinism sells.
I don't expect to hear much about any other OS on any Apple forum. On Google forums I expect to hear about Google products and Android forums, all about Android. I read different articles about different phones and OS's yet I don't read many complaints about the other phones. When there's a problem with Apple anything, it seems I see articles about it from many sources. Why is that? Antenagate seemed to written about by many, including non-Apple writers.
\\ /\( ) Alice.( ). lwr32@mac.comThere are 9 Windows users to 1 OSX users for a start. There are two or three recent threads on MR re switching to Windows. And two or three on Apple quality issues. This is a recent phenomena, match that with the complaints by Apple users over HW and SW issues, and I guess thats why. Here, the bottom line is its an Apple centric forum. But, its extremely biased. If Apple does well we hear about it, great, we should. If there is a "gate" or some issues going on, all we get here is no comment, justification, etc. Its about balance. If its not desired to talk about Apple unless its positive, and put the negatives under the carpet, well, what more is to be said?

How about the complaints many Windows users make about Windows?
Why is it we hear so infrequently of Mac users switching (or switching *back*) to Windows?
I just did a web search for "switching from Mac to Windows" and 7 of the first 9 results — for that specific search — were still discussing switching from Windows to Mac.
