Perhaps you should consider the concept of praising "benefits" (things that you like) instead of not commenting on them at all.

Ah, come on, Jim.  People complain a lot and praise little.  It's what we humans are.

How many hospital patients thanked you for your excellent work in getting them through their surgery safely?

Very few — most of my patients were outpatients, whom I never saw after day of surgery, and for whom I was usually back in the OR with another patient by the time the previous one was responsive in the recovery room.
