There are probably some folks still using Macs from the 1980's.
I used the phrase "plenty of people" in regard to 6 year old devices.

A Motorola 68040 based Mac would likely still be fine for *plain* email (without HTML or images), but I certainly wouldn't want to do a lot of photo editing on one, and much or all of the current image software wouldn't run on it (don't even mention video).
