Re: [iPad] iPad Pro Likely to Ship With iOS 9.1, Suggesting No September Launch Alongside iPhone - Mac Rumors

I guess the issue is a person works on a computer all day being productive. Could they do that as well on an iPad? To be truly productive I should be able to do Mac things on an iPad if I was travelling, with minimal inconveniences to work around. Using an external keyboard. All day. It will be different, but it just needs to be ok. Workable. Apps need to be fairly full, not lite. On the other hand, if I had to take an iPad Pro for example, and a separate keyboard, I may as well pack my rMBP, or an MBA if I used one. The extra size and weight may well be worth my while, its not like its an iPad vs a suitcase.

I don't understand why some want to be able to get at the file system in iOS.  As one said, each app holds their files.  Why then do we need to be able to get to the file system.  Isn't that what a Mac is for?  I edit photos on my iPad mini using Snapseed. Seems to me that being productive on my iPad.  I've also made books and PDF's on my iPad mini.  Isn't that also being productive?  I don't think the iPad is just a consumption tablet anymore.

Surface is quit costly. If the iPad pro was a screenless MB and had iOS on it too, it will be heavier and the cost would be high, as you essentially have an Intel MB and an iPad, all that saves is the cost of the MB and the iPad, less one screen.

Sure, but if they were to do a crossover, that would be cool..  Microsoft went first here, but that need not hold Apple back.

The device with the 12" screen running OS X, and with a keyboard … is called the Macbook…
