I have a huge "installed base" of Windows applications. I also have some Windows computers. I needed a modern and moderately powerful one. That's where the Surface fits in.
There is something fundamentally wrong with Windows, some overhead. I guess it's the concept of the Registry, however appealing it may have been. Two of my Windows systems are dual-boot with Linux. The difference in performance is more than striking.
I do have Macs as well. After my iPad Air 2 my 2013 MBA is the device I use most, I guess. But I'd prefer a Retina OS X tablet in its place.

LOL, ok. I love those posts. Nothing wrong with Windows .I have no idea why you would buy a Surface if you dislike Windows? Shoulda bought an MBA or MB12

There's just one problem with my Surface Pro 3: it runs Windows. ;-)
So I'd love to have an OS X equivalent.

Surface is quit costly. If the iPad pro was a screenless MB and had iOS on it too, it will be heavier and the cost would be high, as you essentially have an Intel MB and an iPad, all that saves is the cost of the MB and the iPad, less one screen.

Sure, but if they were to do a crossover, that would be cool. Microsoft went first here, but that need not hold Apple back.

The device with the 12" screen running OS X, and with a keyboard … is called the Macbook…
