Re: [iPad] iPad Pro Likely to Ship With iOS 9.1, Suggesting No September Launch Alongside iPhone - Mac Rumors

If you (anyone) should happen to commute between places with an HDMI monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard, then your iPhone (or an iPod Touch) might suffice. (Plus either an adapter cable or an Apple TV.)
No lack of processing power in most iOS devices, just the matter of big fingers and the comfort of a large screen. And how about using the Handoff feature between an iPod Touch and a 5k iMac?

I upgraded to Windows 10 and said "this is cool". Then system errors started popping up about a corrupt dll file. After playing around with trying to get a good file and attempting to replace the bad file, I reverted to 8.1. I doubt I'll go back to Windows 10, because I just want a computer that works.

An iPad Air with keyboard case and iPhone 6 Plus are my go to devices at this point. The Splashtop app connects to my Windows computer when I need something that I can't do on the iPad.

Win 10's not as pretty as 8.1 was, at least for me.  And the Store is a very bad joke.  But it's a powerful, protean, and flexible platform.

Its not like that here, but the younger generation can see that. They move away from computing as we know it in favour of this social engineering, I mean networking BS. As that happens, there is no need for a computer as they dont really compute. They read stuff, reply, facebook, etc. They could forget the tablet and just use a phone. Xbox is heavily social, Win 10 is that way if you want it to be.

If I wasn't a video pirate my iPad would be my only computer. And it could easily be my only computer work. It's amazing the sheer number of people that I communicate with on a daily basis that do not have a computer that I have an iPhone or an iPad or an android tablet or galaxy phone, my estimation is that more than half of the people with smart phones or tablets do not have a computer

There is no question that iPads are suitable for many tasks that you mention. Where we disagree is the extent of using an iPad as the sole and only computer

The vast majority of employees to simple work, not everybody works in an office where they need a power holds computer doing many millions of things. If the software were written for the iPad everybody at this thousand person call center could use an iPad instead of the desktop computer there is no technical reason why it could not happen. Many professions are using the iPad as her sole computing device and in some case they had no computing device before. Such as airplane pilots. Stores or going from manual cash registers to point-of-sale systems. Restaurants are going to iPads whereas before they use the pen and paper sure these are specific cases but these are the only ones I can come up with right now the arm tons more think a little instead of just looking inside. Of your own box
