Put your finger on the app you want to delete until all of them begin to jiggle and an "x" appears on the left corner of each that can be deleted.  Tap the "x" on the one you want to delete and you will receive a confirmation message.  When you are through, press your Home button to stop the process.

First, thank you for all the info you have been giving me.  I have a quick guide to walk me through the iPad but haven't found this answer.  I want to delete or uninstall apps off my iPad.  What do I have to do?
