What I do with apps that I can't get rid of because they are resident, or that I don't want to see while I evaluate if I really want to get rid of them, is I created a folder called "Junk," which is on my very last page, all by itself. So I don't have to look at them. And I put all those apps in the Junk folder. Out of sight, out of mind.

Original question:

Tap the "x" on the one you want to delete and you will receive a confirmation message. When you are through, press your Home button to stop the process.

Jim's answer:
This technique will NOT work to remove any of Apple's *built-in* Apps. They can not be removed
