It should be feasible … even easy … to "air-gap" the engine, braking, etc. control systems so that they can't be approached by way of any other systems in the vehicle. And make their *outside* connections extremely secure.
Then is someone hacks the not-as-extremely-secure entertainment systems, they accomplish nothing critical.
