To anyone who buys an iPad and doesn't think AppleCare is worth it -- today my husband I went out, 2 big dogs in the house as normal. When we got home, the carpet was pulled up and the padding ripped. Apparently there was a bone under the sofa that she was trying to get.
As I vacuumed the mess, I noticed something dark and rectangular under the carpet at the edge of the white padding. My husband checked, and it was his iPad Air. It has 2 months left on AppleCare.
The dog got it off the dinette table and had her way with it, tossing it around and burying it under the carpet -- who would think? It is in an Apple case, but the screen is badly cracked and scratched. We have an appointment to take it in to the Genius Bar tomorrow. The Apple case pretty much protected the cosmetics of the rest of it. It we are hoping for a replacement, though, since we don't know how much it's insides got banged up.
