The voice to text worked very well
Ok, heres my Tier 1 support on your Extreme
Id ask you to restart the modem and the AEBS, remove power from both. Remove and reconnect the ethernets to both in case of poor connection. After 15 seconds, plug in the modem, wait till its up, light wise. Then plug in the Extreme.
No go? Reset the Extreme as follows:
To perform a factory default reset on the AirPort Extreme:
- First remove power from the Extreme.
- Using a paperclip or similar object, depress the reset button, and while still depressed plug the Extreme into power.
- Keep the reset button depressed until the status light on the Extreme starts flashing rapidly, and then, release the reset button.
Setup Extreme from as new. It will connect to your computer or iPhone on Airport Utility, so you can set it up. If it cannot, I guess its borked. If you had another wifi router to borrow that would confirm the issue isn't from the model communicating TO the Extreme. Swapping out ethernet cables is an option too.

Subject: [iPad] Troubleshooting your internet
And away we have been talking about troubleshooting your modem and how tech-support people always tell you to do the simple and obvious stuff first. That got me thinking because my Internet was not working at my house so I decided to investigate on my day off. Well somehow my Motorola surfboard modem works without needing a subscription to Comcast so this was a interesting dilemma for me. Mostly because I couldn't call Comcast to complain so I decided to investigate myself first I set my DNS servers to Google and also to public but that didn't work now my set up is that my cable comes from the wall to my cable modem which I own and then goes to my airport Extreme the older version the one that the square the AC version. Nothing work so I decided well what would tech-support have me do? And the first thing that would help me do is put my modem directly into my computer and see if it works. Lo and behold it worked just fine. So that got me thinking maybe something is wrong with my airport extreme after all it is what five years old more more than that it's maybe eight years old or something I don't know it's pretty old I got it to the week that the AirPort Extreme AC version came out. So in conclusion I think my airport extreme died and I wouldn't of found that out if I had known I guess maybe done what I should've done in the first place and that's final step one which is to unplug all the external things in check everything one by one like a tech-support guy would tell me to do. No tomorrow morning when I have a little more time I'm going to do a little more investigating on this and see if I can coax my airport extreme in the life again before I try to figure out how to recycle it. So the bad news is my airport extreme died but the good news is my free Internet did not also I really like the
Looks of the new airport extreme it's kind of cool and small so I want one. Want one but I do not need one I do have wireless in the house because my neighbor gave me their password and I can use their wireless for my iPad so that my iPad is not too much heavy lifting so that's not a big deal and work out just fine I can plug my iPad and my phones into the lightning cable into my Mac Mini and that'll work out just fine. Moral of the story I guess is that sometimes the simple troubleshooting steps will limit the problem and that's why the tech-support guys the lonely ones making minimum wage listening to you scream at them for making you do something that you said you've already done it you're too smart to do again like me in this instance but in this case the simple things work. I think I sort of expected my airport extreme to work forever and so therefore I assumed it must be some other problem laughing out loud and the assumption that my airport extreme at work forever was the reason why I bought a modem that did not have wireless in at oh silly boy I am. If anyone has any thoughts feel free to toss on my way up I would like to figure out how to get my airport extreme working but at the moment nothing seems to be doing it it seems to have DNS problems the lights are all on him well Doug is still let's roll all my modem but now the on the airport it just doesn't seem give me DNS her is when it's over try to connect the pages. But that's all the troubleshooting I can do for today I just thought I'd toss this out there as a discussion point I have some running around to do it so about a 3 mile walk to the laundry mat and I'm going to carry it back the laundry and I'm also going to figure out what to do for grub. Anyway this was the first time I've composed a whole message using the voice to text so hopefully it works out okay I'm not really checking the translation of the comes out but I hope it works out okay I heard good stuff on the WWDC about how error rates have gone down with Siri and so I think that Siri handles the dictation here anyway him peace out
